At first Brood X was a cool novelty. It was neat to see them come out of the ground and cover trees, bushes, everything. Then it was fascinating to watch them hatch from nymph mode to adult mode. But then the stink set in, the smell of millions of dead insects and insect waste. They would pop under your feet like a disgusting water balloon.
